Woman Accused Of Burglary Faces Pretrial Conference Monday

Orange City, Iowa — An Orange City woman accused of burglary and theft is getting “one last chance” to appear in court.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says the charges against 23-year old Stacy Carr stem from the investigation into a residential burglary in Hull. Deputies say Carr is accused of entering a residence on Maple Street in Hull without permission and stealing a cell phone.

According to authorities, Carr faces charges of 3rd Degree Burglary, a Class D Felony, and 5th Degree Theft, a Simple Misdemeanor, in connection with the incident.

Carr has filed a plea of not guilty.

According to an order from District Judge Julie Schumacher, Carr did not appear in person at what was supposed to be her pretrial conference, but appeared via her attorney, Billy Oyadare. Judge Schumacher wrote that the pretrial conference would be continued once again to give, “one last chance for [the] Defendant to appear.” Schumacher set the pretrial conference for this coming Monday, October 16th in Sioux County District Court.
