Work On New Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn Middle School, High School Continues

Sanborn/Hartley, Iowa — This is another summer of construction projects at Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn. An $18.9 million bond issue passed in the spring of 2018, and a new elementary school opened last fall.

HMS Superintendent Patrick Carlin reminds us what the money went toward.

He gives us an update on construction progress.

He tells us how the other parts of the project have been going.

Carlin says there was a little frustration on the part of the school board members due to delays in scheduling for the high school gyms pushing other things back like a domino effect, but things are still on track, says Carlin.

Mr. Carlin says a ribbon-cutting for the new middle school building in Sanborn will be before the August HMS Board of Education meeting.
