Wynja: Highway 75 Construction Through Sioux Center A Little Ahead Of Schedule

Sioux Center, Iowa — Highway 75 through Sioux Center is in the midst of a multi-year construction project that will change the entire look of the roadway through that city.

Sioux Center City Manager Scott Wynja tells us things are progressing nicely with the work.

He reminds us that the multi-million-dollar project is being done in two phases. This year, they are focusing on 20th Street South to 13th Street South, which is the southernmost section of the project — basically from the fairly new Sioux Center Dental building to the Pizza Hut corner. But he says phase one is also broken down into smaller sections of work, and he tells us what they’ve been doing lately.

Wynja tells us what’s next.

He tells us work on Phase Two, which is 13th Street South to 12th Street North, will start next year and will be completed in 2025. That will include Sioux Center’s downtown as well as residential and commercial areas.

Meanwhile, Wynja says Sioux County is working on B40, which is their Ninth Street Southeast, and a portion of the project does come into town. He says that project also seems to be going well, and the county’s goal for B40 is to be done before school starts.

He asks the traveling public to be patient and careful. He says there have been a few accidents in the construction zone, so just watch what you’re doing. But he says Sioux Center is still open for business and he encourages people to come and visit.
