Primghar, Iowa — It’s almost time for the annual Youth Pheasant Hunt in O’Brien County.
O’Brien County Naturalist Charlene Elyea tells us about the hunt, which is coming up on Saturday, October 19th.
Elyea says last year’s event was “fantastic.” She says they had about 15 young hunters, and they were very successful. She says the instructors did a great job. The hunt is held every year in cooperation with the O’Brien County Sportsmen’s Club.
The Crosbie Wildlife Area is three miles south of Primghar, a mile west, and a half-mile south, at 4270 Roosevelt Avenue. That number to call to sign up is 712-295-7200.
The regular rooster pheasant season will run October 26th through January 10th.
