Foodie Friday:

It’s National Cheese Fondue Day!

Cheese fondue is a traditional Swiss dish consisting of melted cheese, often flavored with wine and other ingredients. It is often served in a communal pot where people dip bread, or other foods into it using long forks.

This originated in Switzerland as a way to use up leftover cheese and bread.

The original color of the Incredible Hulk was, actually, pasty gray.

Originally, the late Stan Lee and Jack Kirby intended the Hulk to be gray, but the printing press kept having trouble with the Hulk’s color and he kept coming out green. So, they only spent the first few issues of his comic book being gray.

It’s National Cordon Bleu Day!

The traditional cordon bleu is a dish of breaded chicken stuffed with ham and cheese. Other variations include veal along with other types of cheese and ham.

Cordon bleu translates to “blue ribbon” in French and historically referred to the blue ribbon worn by members of the French Order of the Holy Spirit, and symbol of excellence, which is why the term is now associated with high-quality food and the renowned Le Cordon Bleu cooking schools.
