A study this year was conducted where they compiled how many ghost sightings are occurring in different locations. Amongst other locations, they said how many ghost sightings there have been in the 50 various states, per 100,000 people. They found that Florida was the lowest at 8.1 sightings per 100,000 people, followed by New York at 10.8. The ghostliest state in the union – Maine, with a whopping 57.8 ghost sightings per 100,000 people! As for us here in Iowa… we are the 10th ghostliest state in the union, coming in with 32.7 sightings per 100,000 people.
