Sutherland, Iowa — Agronomy in the Field is a workshop series for women that provides learning opportunities for forage and crop production. The series will be hosted at the Northwest Research and Demonstration Farm near Sutherland from 5:30 to 7 p.m. one night a month from May through September.
Agronomy in the Field focuses on developing agronomic decision-making skills that can be utilized on one’s own personal farm or family cropping operations, including water quality and conservation practices.
The workshop sessions will include hands-on opportunities in fields to help us all better understand the concepts and information we discuss and learn about, according to Leah Ten Napel, field agronomist with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, who will be hosting the sessions.
The workshops are organized by ISU Extension and Outreach and are useful for landowners, active farmers and farm families, and others in the agricultural industry interested in a refresher on agronomic basics.

Dates: May 24, June 21, July 19, Aug. 16, Sept. 13
Time: All sessions will be held from 5:30-7 p.m.

The cost covers all supplied materials and resources. This course is valued at $75 per person, but due to the generosity of the O’Brien County Extension Council, the registration fee is being subsidized.
