Case IH introduces new vertical tillage tool

IARN — Case IH has a new vertical tillage tool in its soil management lineup.

Chris Lursen, Tillage Marketing Manager at Case IH, says the new VT-Flex 435 vertical tillage tool is all about giving operators on-the-go adjustment options to better manage their soil while out in the field.

“As we’ve gone and asked customers about what they’re looking for and what they want kind of in that seed bed pass, or that vertical tillage pass, comes down to flexibility and productivity and give me something durable. First and foremost, it really gives us an ability to complement those variability needs that they want by using variable gang angle adjustment, it also gives a simple and easy depth control, we go from one to four inches with the tool. And finally, sizing and getting that finish out the back is the Tigerpaw Crumbler.”

Lursen says the VT-Flex 435 vertical tillage tool is ideal for mixed farms and small to midsized grain operations.

“Whether it be fall use, spring use, corn stalks, soybean stubble, wheat stubble, you name it, it has that kind of capability to go into those conditions. The overall tool itself is able to adjust and give you that output that you’re looking for from a vertical tillage tool. Whether we needed it to size residue, preserve the soil, or to mix that residue in, it has that capability. It’s really for those mixed livestock to grain operations, and then the small, midsized grain farmers alone. Offered from 11 Feet has a very unique size and that 15 That actually folds gets us down the road quicker, and then all the way up to 25.”

Additionally, on-the-go adjustments help producers make the most of their time with this tillage tool.

“Time is always of the essence, we know that, and we would rather be running than making adjustments to the tool, so we offer this VT-Flex 435 available with hydraulic gang angle adjustments, so we’re able to make adjustments quickly, efficiently, and also be able to evaluate the agronomics as we’re making those adjustments, make sure that we’re getting out of the tool, what we want, One unique thing that will also help save some time is we have an in cab adjustment to switch between front gangs and rear gangs adjustment. So, you can make those individual adjustments, all the way from zero to 12 degree gang angle.”

Lursen says the VT-Flex 435 vertical tillage tool is also designed to be durable.

“The 20-inch earth metal VT wave blades are kind of the standard in the industry as far as ruggedness and durability. It also gives us a flat spot to mate our cast iron nodular spools against, and using inch and a half long our arbor bolts, we crimp the entire gang together once and only once, because we have all these flat surfaces that mount. together Tigerpaw Crumbler of course has spring down pressure to it, simple and easy to adjust, but also uses that formed bar, that gives us that action of a flat bar, ruggedness of around bar. And then finally, making sure this machine stays good looking throughout its life, we use a powder coat paint adhesion system that allows that machine to re be resistant to impacts, scratching, fading and keeps that resale value into the future.”
