Consumer Trends Are Changing, And The Pork Industry Is Adapting

IARN — We are starting to see society try to return to normal from the COVID-19 pandemic. However close we get to becoming “normal” again, there will be a “new normal.” I know that phrase has been beaten to death, but there has been a shift. The National Pork Board and the Pork Checkoff see it and are adapting their strategies to meet this change head-on.

People have learned during this pandemic that cooking at home is not as hard as we think it is. Many people have either rediscovered their appreciation for a home-cooked meal or are discovering it for the first time. They are looking for something that is not only easy to prepare and flavorful, they also want something that is economical. Pork Checkoff Vice President of Domestic Marketing Angie Krieger talks about this shift.
