IARN — Recently, Fareway and the Iowa Farm Bureau teamed up to donate over 57,000 pounds of ground meat to Iowa food banks as part of the Food Bank of Iowa’s “Meat the Need” campaign. From October 30th to November 4th, one pound of lean protein was donated to local food banks for every 10-pound tube of ground beef sold at Fareway. This donation comes at an incredibly important time, as there has never been a greater demand for high-quality protein. Iowa Farm Bureau President Brent Johnson said they’ve worked with Fareway several times, but they are especially proud of this partnership.
