IARN — The American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture’s Feeding Minds Press released its latest book Tuesday, connecting children to what life is like on a farm.
Foundation Education Outreach Director Julia Recko says the book features a heartwarming yet true-to-life tale.
“The new book is called ‘Barn at Night,’ and it is by author Michelle Houts. And ‘Barn at Night’ features a father and daughter, as they work in the pre-dawn hours in their barn to feed and care for their animals, and is illustrated with wonderful watercolors from the very talented illustrator Jen Betton.”
Recko says the book helps build awareness of agriculture through education.
“One of the best ways and the most organic ways to help students learn is just through stories. And so, books are an excellent vehicle for this kind of information, especially with a lot of the pictures to help tell the story. Kids are so visual, books like ‘Barn at Night’ really help young learners understand where their food comes from, who grows it, and how they grow it.”
Recko adds the book is available anywhere that books are sold.
