Sioux Center, Iowa — Beef feedlot producers and agri-business professionals are invited to attend a beef industry conference coming up this month in Sioux Center.
“Emerging Trends in Beef Feedlots” is the focus of what’s called “Feedlot Forum 2022.” Iowa State University Extension & Outreach Beef Field Specialist Beth Doran says that on Tuesday, January 18 at the Terrace View Event Center in Sioux Center, key presenters will focus on proper implanting, the evolution of traceable beef, and the newly adopted U.S. Cattle Industry Feedyard Audit that packers will soon require from feedlot producers. She tells us there’s a full lineup of nationally-known speakers
Rounding out the day is “Beef Cattle Market Situation and Outlook” by Dr. Lee Schulz, an Extension livestock market economist at Iowa State University.
Experts tell us Feedlot Forum will focus on the latest emerging trends in beef feedlots. Cattle feeders should come prepared to participate and discover how to stay competitive in the beef industry.
They say the program is a grassroots effort of the Lyon, Sioux, and Plymouth County Cattlemen’s Associations, as well as ISU Extension and Outreach and the Iowa Beef Center. Doran says, “Anyone involved or interested in beef feedlots and feeding cattle will find value in the program.”
