I-29 Moo U Webinar Will Be Held April 26th

Orange City, Iowa — The I-29 Moo University 2022 Dairy Webinar on Selected Dry Cow Treatment Options is scheduled for Tuesday, April 26 from 12 noon to 1 p.m.

Dairy producers and allied industry reps are invited to join Dr. Erin Royster as she explains algorithm-guided and culture-guided selected dry cow treatments, when to consider them and when not to.

The webinar will focus on strategies to improve milk quality by lowering somatic cell counts and incidence of mastitis, according to Fred Hall, dairy specialist with ISU Extension and Outreach.

Dr. Royster is an Assistant Professor in Dairy Production Medicine at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. As the faculty advisor for the University of Minnesota Laboratory for Udder Health, Dr. Royster is involved in research, teaching and outreach related to mastitis control and diagnostics, particularly on-farm diagnostics. Other areas of interest include milking equipment evaluation and milking parlor performance, promoting responsible use of antibiotics, quality assurance programs and “best practice” adoption on dairies.

There is no fee to participate in the webinar; however, preregistration is required at least one hour before the webinar. Preregister online at https://go.iastate.edu/MKIPOU.
