ISU Extension & Outreach To Hold Farmland Lease Meetings Throughout Area

Northwest Iowa — Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will hold its annual series of farmland lease meetings in early August. Gary Wright, a Farm Management Specialist with ISU Extension and Outreach, says the workshops will cover a number of factors, including the latest lease trends with lease rates.

Wright says operating margins and cost of production will also be discussed, along with some legal and tax updates.

The workshops will be held August 1st-10th at nine different locations throughout northwest Iowa. There is a charge of $20 per individual or $30 per couple for those who sign up at least two days prior to the workshop date. The fee includes the cost of materials.

Meetings are approximately 2 ½ hours in length and all registrants receive a leasing arrangement book, as well as access to research-based resources from ISU Extension and Outreach. Specific topic depth and breadth at each meeting will vary to best suit participants’ needs and wants, but individuals need only attend one meeting.
