Latest USDA Monthly Commodity Price Report

The average price received by farmers for corn during June in Iowa was $3.95 per bushel according to the latest USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service – Agricultural Prices report. This was up 36 cents from the May price and 41 cents above June 2018.

The June 2019 average price received by farmers for soybeans, at $8.28 per bushel, was up 39 cents from the May price but $1.24 below the June 2018 price.

The June average oat price per bushel was $3.71, up 25 cents from May and $1.04 above June 2018. All hay prices in Iowa averaged $138.00 per ton in June. This was down $18.00 from the May price but $22.00 above the June 2018 price. The June 2019 alfalfa hay price averaged $141.00, down $27.00 from the previous month but $22.00 above June 2018. The average price received for other hay during June was $130.00 per ton. This was down $3.00 from the May price but $25.00 above the June 2018 price.

The average price was $18.20 per cwt for milk, down 30 cents from the May price but $2.00 above one year ago. Prices received for milk cows for dairy herd replacement averaged $1,180 per head as of July 1, 2019
