Pork Checkoff rates may be lower, but mission remains the same

IARN — The Pork Promotion, Research, and Consumer Information Act mandates the Pork Checkoff. It requires a promotion fee to be collected any time a hog is sold. The rate had been 40 cents per hundred dollars, but a vote earlier this year reduced that rate to 35 cents per hundred dollars.
