IARN — Iowa’s farms are full of big, powerful machinery because we mostly have big jobs that need to be done. There are, however, some jobs that don’t require a roaring diesel engine. Sometimes, a smaller, quieter tractor can do the job just as well, if not even better. Solectrac is a California-based company that produces electric tractors, which were on display at this year’s Farm Progress Show. Martha Hennigan, Solectrac’s director of sales and marketing, detailed some of the benefits of using an electric tractor.
