Sustainability Reports help pork producers be more efficient

IARN — We know that to be successful in your operation, you need to be sustainable. You need to be able to show that your business is strong and can weather the hard times. You also need to be able to show that you are being responsible to the environment and live up to the regulations that are in effect in your particular county or state. You also must be accountable to the packing companies and the consumer. They are looking for a certain product, and they want to make sure that what you are doing is living up to that demand.

That National Pork Board and the Pork Checkoff are offering you to get a sustainability report made for your operation. This will help you see how your farm stacks up against others and help you communicate with all the outside organizations that affect how you do business.  Brett Kaysen is VP of Sustainability for the National Pork Board. He talks about why it is important for producers to be sustainability-minded, and how these reports can help you provide an overview that works wherever you need it.
