Sheldon, Iowa — It is almost time for the annual Halloween fun in Sheldon. The Prairie Arts Council Halloween Carnival is this Saturday at Prairie Arts Historical Park.
Tricia Meendering of the Prairie Arts Council tells us what’s in store.
Meendering says they’re shooting for about 20 games. She says they’re always looking for volunteers.
She tells us what to look for if your kids go.
As usual with October events, the weather for the Halloween Carnival can run the gamut. Over the years, it has been everything from warm to rainy to snowed out. If the forecast holds, it should be a beautiful jacket-weather day. The forecast at this point calls for partly sunny skies and a high of 60.
She says that everyone (including adults) are welcome to come in costume. If you want to volunteer, call or text Meendering at 712-899-3532.
The Prairie Arts Council Halloween Carnival will open at noon on Saturday at Prairie Arts Park, located just east of Washington Avenue on the north side of Highway 18 in Sheldon. All the carnival games are free, with a fundraising concession stand on the grounds.
Meendering made her comments this week on the KIWA Talk of the Town Program, which can be heard on weekday mornings at 8:30 on KIWA-FM 105.3. We also post a podcast of every Talk of The Town Program, and you can find those by clicking here.
