Another Accident North Of Ritter Sends Sibley Woman To Hospital

Ritter, Iowa– A Sibley woman was taken to the hospital after the second accident at the same location near Ritter in three days. This most recent accident happened on Saturday. The first accident happened on Thursday.

The Iowa State Patrol reports that at about 2:10 p.m. on Saturday, 68-year-old Julie Johnson of Sibley was driving a 2011 Ford southbound on Highway 60, north of Ritter. They tell us that 85-year-old Raymond Buse of Brookings was eastbound on Northwest Boulevard in a 2007 Buick.

The report says that Buse went through the stop sign and struck the side of the Johnson Ford, which came to rest on the west shoulder.

The Sheldon Community Ambulance Team (SCAT) took Johnson to Sanford Sheldon Hospital.

Buse reported no injuries.

Johnson’s Ford sustained $8000 in damages, which totaled the vehicle, and Buse’s Buick sustained $5000 in damages.

Buse was charged with failure to obey stop sign and yield the right-of-way.
