Ashton, Iowa– An Ashton man has died as a result of a skid loader rollover accident near Ashton on Saturday, August 23, 2025.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 12:05 p.m., 65-year-old Ronald Thole of Ashton was driving a New Holland skid steer loader northbound on the shoulder of Pierce Avenue or L40, three miles east and two north of Ashton.
The report says that Thole lost control of the unit near the top of the ditch. The skid steer rolled onto its side.
The deputy’s report says Thole died on the scene.
