Ashton, Iowa — It’s summer festival season in northwest Iowa. There’s a different festival almost every weekend throughout the summer.
This weekend, it’s Ashton’s turn.
Those in charge tell us it all gets underway this Friday night with Supper at the Snack Shack and Movie in the Park.
The bulk of the activities in Ashton are on Saturday. They’ll have a slowpitch softball tournament, kids’ activities, face painting, Mr. Twister, a pedal pull, a parade, a bean bag tournament, and much more. Food and drink will be available from the Town & Country Snack Shack, the Fire Department, a caramel apple bar, shaved ice by the Ashton Aces, and the Ashton Whiskey Vault.
On Sunday, the slowpitch tournament continues, Shari’s Kitchen’s food truck will be there, and at dusk, there will be fireworks put on by the fire department.
