West of Hospers, Iowa — If you take Sioux County Road B40 in your travels, you may want to listen up.
Several people take B40 as part of their trip between Sheldon and Sioux Center or vice versa, and that trip has been lengthened a little, due to road construction.
B40 (that’s 400th Street) from K64 or Jackson Avenue, east of Sioux Center to L22 or Lily Avenue, west of Hospers is closed. Officials with the Sioux County Engineer’s office tell us that shoulder widening and ditch improvement are happening in this area.
They say that only vehicles traveling to and from properties along the closed route are allowed in the construction area. It is otherwise closed.
The detour uses combinations of K64, Highway 18, and L22. For instance, leaving from Sheldon, headed for Sioux Center a motorist would go west on Highway 18 to K64, and then south to B40.
