Baler And Bales Damaged In Little Rock Area Fire

Little Rock, Iowa — A baler and some bales were damaged in a fire on Thursday, October 9, 2025, near Little Rock.

According to Little Rock Fire Chief Austin Kannegieter, at about 4:20 p.m., the Little Rock Fire Department was called to the report of a bale fire near Larch Avenue and 140th Street, three miles west of Little Rock.

When they got there, the chief says the fire department saw the baler and bales on fire, which they extinguished.

Kannegieter says no injuries were reported.

He says the cause of the fire appeared to be a malfunction in the baler.

Chief Kannegieter reports that the baler was saved, but five bales were lost in the blaze.

He says the firefighters who responded were on the scene for about an hour and a half.
