Little Rock, Iowa — A baler was destroyed in a fire on Sunday, June 22, 2025, near Little Rock.
Around 8:10 PM, the Little Rock Fire Department responded to a baler fire located four miles west and two north of Little Rock, at the intersection of 120th Street and Kiwi Avenue. According to Fire Chief Austin Kannegieter, firefighters arrived to find the baler fully engulfed in flames.
Kannegieter says no injuries were reported. He says the baler had been placed in the cornfield to limit damage to the grass and had been unhooked so as to not damage the tractor.
He says the cause of the fire was probably a bearing that went out.
Chief Kannegieter reports that the baler was totaled.
He says the firefighters who responded were on the scene for about 45 minutes.
