Cercospora leaf blight poses a heightened challenge for soybean farmers

IARN – As planting season continues and the 2025 crop season gets fully underway, it’s important for farmers to be aware of the diseases that can impact their crops and limit yields. Last year, the top yield-limiting foliar disease for soybeans was Cercospora leaf blight (CLB), according to the Crop Protection Network. Albre Brown, BASF technical marketing manager, wrote a white paper about CLB and how to manage it. Brown said CLB is dangerous because it can complete its full life cycle within a soybean plant, but it doesn’t show symptoms until late in the season.
