Coats For Kids Accepting Coats Now, With Distribution Oct. 9th & Nov. 16th

Sheldon, Iowa — Nice weather right now makes us forget that cold weather is coming. The Sheldon Ministarial Association is helping out — as usual — with the annual Coats For Kids program.

Pastor Dave Loveall tells us about the program, which is celebrating its 25th year this year.

Pastor Ken Snyder says the coats don’t have to be used either. They accept brand-new coats as well. He says they have given out about 200-300 coats every year, which would work out to between 5000 and 7500 coats.

While they are looking for coats now, Pastor Loveall says they’ve been looking for a while now — when coats went on clearance early this year.

Love, INC is accepting the coats now.

Pastor Snyder tells us they’ve changed up how they distribute the coats as well.

Again, the Sheldon Area Ministerial Association will be distributing the Coats for Kids this year on two separate occasions, both in conjunction with visits by the Sheldon Mobile Food Bank. The two dates are Thursday, October 9th, and again Thursday, November 16th, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m., at Living Water Community Church (located on Business 60) in Sheldon.

The pastors made their comments on the KIWA Talk of the Town Program, which can be heard on weekday mornings at 8:30 on KIWA-FM 105.3. We also post a podcast of every Talk of The Town Program, and you can find those by clicking here.
