Congressman Feenstra Secures $1.8 Million For Rock Valley CSD Flood Recovery

Rock Valley, Iowa — After a joint meeting with Rock Valley city officials and representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) on Thursday, Congressman Randy Feenstra of Hull announced that he had secured $1.8 million for the Rock Valley Community School District for ongoing flood recovery efforts.

Feenstra says he’s continually impressed by the resilience of our neighbors in Rock Valley and their commitment to rebuilding stronger than before. He says the funding will help get students back in the classroom and ensure that they can learn in a safe environment.

Rock Valley Mayor Kevin Van Otterloo thanked Feenstra for working nonstop to get Rock Valley the resources that they need to rebuild their community after the floods.

Rock Valley Community School District Superintendent Matt Van Voorst says he appreciates Feenstra for working to secure the funding. He says getting the students and staff back in safe classroom spaces was a top priority for him and everyone in Rock Valley.
