Deadline Approaching For Farmers To Apply For Bridge Payments

Northwest Iowa — The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) tells us the deadline is approaching for farmers to apply for a one-time payment at their Farm Service Agency (FSA).

FSA officials tell us the agency is providing $11 billion through a one-time bridge payment to American farmers, with an additional $1 billion available for additional commodities. They say the assistance provides producers with a bridge until the benefits of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act are available. These bridge payments are authorized under the Commodity Credit Corporation Charter Act.

Pre-filled FBA applications will be available to producers who timely filed their 2025 crop acreage report for eligible commodities.

Producers who have a secure Login.gov account can access and submit their pre-filled application online as well as track their application and payment status. The deadline to sign up is Friday, April 17th.
