Granville, Iowa– A Denison teen was taken to the hospital after an accident near Granville on Sunday, September 28, 2025.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 6:30 p.m., 18-year-old Angel Zuniga of Denison was driving a 2002 Volkswagen northbound on Nettle Avenue, four miles east and four north of Granville.
The report says that, based on tire tracks and skid marks, the Volkswagen drifted off onto the right shoulder. It appears Zuniga overcorrected, losing control. The vehicle is thought to have crossed the centerline, entered the west ditch, traveled over a driveway embankment, and struck a tree.
The Granville Ambulance took Zuniga to Sanford Sheldon Hospital.
Zuniga’s Volkswagen sustained $3000 in damages, which totaled the vehicle.
