Orange City, Iowa — An Orange City veterinary practice has been named U.S. Senator Joni Ernst’s Small Business of the Week.
Ernst, who is Chair of the Senate Small Business Committee, has announced her Small Business of the Week is Orange City Family Animal Care. Throughout the 119th Congress, Chair Ernst says she plans to recognize a small business in each of Iowa’s 99 counties.
She says that Orange City Family Animal Care has built a legacy of community service and going a “whisker” above to get the job done.
Established in 1984 by Dr. Dave Bomgaars as Orange City Veterinary Clinic, the practice later became part of Pipeline Veterinary Services. In 2023, Dr. Laura Vander Stelt purchased the companion animal portion, now known as Orange City Family Animal Care. Since then, the clinic has expanded to a 10-person team and is building a larger facility downtown. Ernst says the clinic gives back to the community by supporting local schools and youth programs, as well as donating pet oxygen masks to local fire departments, creating a lasting “paw print” across Sioux County.
