Iowa (RI) — Figures out today show two of the three state universities saw enrollment increases for the fall semester.
The University of Iowa saw enrollment increase by 784 students to 31,563, as the school says it had its second-largest incoming class ever. Iowa State University saw its third straight increase in overall fall enrollment, up by 673 students to 31,105. ISU says it retained a school record 89 percent of first-year students. The University of Northern Iowa saw overall enrollment drop by 79 students to 9,204. The drop comes after two straight years of increases.
The UI took over the top spot for largest enrollment among the three state schools from ISU last year, and maintained that spot with this year’s number.
