Lake Park, Iowa — One area school district is having some preliminary discussions about a four-day school week. Harris-Lake Park Superintendent Gary Richardson tells us what it was that led up to the discussions.
Richardson says they’re closely weighing the pro’s and cons of a four-day school week.
Richardson adds they are still very early in the discussions and want to give plenty of opportunity for input from district patrons.
Members of the Harris-Lake Park School Board acknowledged at their meeting Monday evening one area of concern they are likely to hear about a four-day week would be the need for additional child care, something that’s costly and already hard to come by in the area.
