Heritage Days Is This Weekend In Rock Rapids

Rock Rapids, Iowa — Heritage Days is going on in Rock Rapids. This Friday’s schedule includes a Dad’s Belgian Waffle Breakfast, which includes a silent pie auction. The Rock Community Church will have their luncheon and craft sale at the Forster Community Center. There will be an ice cream social event, and burnout contest registration starts at 5:30 this Friday evening. Of course, they’ll have the regular races at Rapid Speedway as well, and they’ll have a cruise night downtown.

Saturday is the big day at Heritage Days. It starts off with the Medallion Hunt. And there’s a road race. There will be popcorn at the Rapids Theatre, Business Bingo, a parade at 10:30 downtown, a benefit hog roast for the Rapids Theatre Preservation Society, a car show-and-shine sponsored by Papik Motors, kids’ inflatables, and Touch a Truck downtown. They’ll have live entertainment, a bean bag tournament, Water Wars with the fire department, an all-school reunion, Figure-Eight Races, and much more, including a street dance.

Then, on Sunday, there will be a community church service that was scheduled to be in Island Park. But, due to the forecast heat, it’s going to be at the First Reformed Church instead. There will be a Kiwanis pancake fundraiser afterwards, with half of the proceeds going to the Rock Rapids Teen Center.

All that and much more is available at Heritage Days going on this weekend in Rock Rapids.
