Hospers Man Taken To Hospital After Hull Accident

Hull, Iowa– A Hospers man was taken to the hospital after an accident in Hull on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.

The Iowa State Patrol reports that at about 8:15 a.m., 19-year-old Allan Perez of Hospers was driving a 2024 Honda eastbound on Highway 18, just west of Okey Street in Hull. They tell us that 23-year-old Jordan Jansma of Hull was westbound on 18 in a 2022 Ram pickup. The trooper does note that there was “fog, smoke, or smog” in the area at the time of the accident.

The report says that Perez crossed the centerline in front of Jansma’s pickup. Jansma swerved to attempt to avoid the impact. His pickup was pulling an enclosed trailer, and as a result of swerving, the Perez Honda struck Jansma’s trailer on its side.

Perez’s Honda had severe, disabling damage. The pickup had no damage, but the trailer was missing rims and tires on the driver’s side and the hitch was broken.

The Hull Ambulance took Perez to Sanford Sheldon Hospital.

Perez’s Honda sustained about $10,000 in damages, which totaled the car, and Jansma’s trailer sustained about $5000 in damages.

At the time of the report, no charges had been filed.
