Hull Coop Buys Petroleum Business Of Ahlers Oil, Ribbon Cutting Held

Sheldon, Iowa — The Hull Cooperative Association has had a presence in Sheldon for a short time, in the form of their feed mill. But now, they’re going to be a player in the petroleum market as well.

Company officials tell us they have purchased the former Ahlers Oil bulk plant in Sheldon and will start selling fuel. A ribbon cutting was held in Sheldon on Wednesday morning to commemorate the event, and speaking on behalf of the Sheldon Chamber and Development Corporation (SCDC) and the City of Sheldon was Interim SCDC Executive Director Mark Brown.

KIWA’s own Skip Tanner spoke on behalf of the Sheldon Ambassadors.

Hull Coop General Manager Evan Weilenga tells us how Hull Coop got started and about their expansion to Sheldon.

Weilenga tells us more about the feed mill.

He tells us about the petroleum division purchase.

And, he tells us, like other co-ops, the customers are the company.

The ribbon cutting started at the feed mill and moved to the petroleum bulk plant near the Sheldon Union Depot.
