Hull Man Injured When His SUV Struck A Parked Vehicle In Hospers

Hospers, Iowa – A Hull man was taken to the hospital following a Friday afternoon (December 27th) crash in Hospers.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that shortly before 1:30 Friday afternoon, their deputies investigated a motor vehicle accident on 6th Avenue S, in Hospers. Deputies say the mishap occurred when a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by 88-year-old Arnold Tiedemann of Hull was westbound on Fir Street. According to authorities, Tiedemann reported he fell asleep while driving, lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway and struck a parked vehicle. 

Damage to the Tiedemann’s SUV was estimated at $13,000; damage to the parked vehicle was estimated at $7,000.

Tiedemann was transported by the Hospers Ambulance to Sioux Center Health for treatment of his injuries .

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, Hospers Fire Department and the Hospers Ambulance.

Tiedemann was reportedly cited for failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle.
