Sioux City, Iowa — A Hull man has been sentenced on federal drug charges.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says 24-year-old Victor Perez-Martinez of Hull has been sentenced to 12 years in federal prison, after pleading guilty in May of this year to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute meth, four counts of distribution of methamphetamine, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
Evidence showed Perez-Martinez distributed sizable quantities of pure methamphetamine during four controlled purchases with law enforcement, some within a thousand feet of a protected location. In October 2023, a search warrant was executed on Perez-Martinez’s residence resulting in the seizure of 329 grams of meth, two cell phones, paraphernalia, a little more than $4,200 in cash and a pistol. Prosecutors say evidence also showed Perez-Martinez was involved in a conspiracy that distributed more than 500 grams of methamphetamine to a number of people in the Spencer and Orange City areas.
He remains in the custody of a U.S. Marshal pending transport to a federal prison.
