Iowa Great Lakes (RI) — The DNR’s Ginger Murphy says the flooding that hit the Iowa Great Lakes hard has turned into a positive effort to recover and improve water quality.
Murphy says the damage spurred everyone to make improvements.
Murphy says they worked with the watershed coordinator for a “batch and build” soil program that had been used in the Des Moines metro area.
She says the impact can go far beyond a better lawn.
Murphy says they are using some federal money from a watershed improvement program to keep it going through 2027.
