Iowa City, Iowa (RI) – Iowa will be without leading scorer and rebounder Owen Freeman tonight (Tuesday, Februrary 4th) when the Hawkeyes host seventh ranked Purdue.
Freeman will miss the remainder of the season after having surgery on an injured finger. Even with national player of the year Zach Edey gone Purdue coach Matt Painter has another competitive team. The Boilers are second in the Big Ten at 9-2.
That’s Iowa coach Fran McCaffery who says it always starts with defense and rebounding for Purdue.
Senior forward Payton Sandfort says it won’t be easy to replace Freeman’s production.
Sandfort says without Freeman rebounding must be a priority.
