It’s Homecoming Week At Sheldon Community School District

Sheldon, Iowa — This is homecoming week at Sheldon High School. The theme this year is “Blasting Off to Victory,” so many of the activities have an outer space theme.

On Monday, students enjoyed “spacing off” — also known as pajama day — a day when students can come dressed in their PJs. This Tuesday, the dress-up day theme will be “Blast from the Past,” and students can dress up in classic clothing. Freshmen will dress in ’70s garb, Sophomores will dress up like it’s the 1980s. Juniors will wear ’90s clothing. Seniors will celebrate the millennium by dressing in 2000s clothes.

Homecoming Coronation will be at the high school gym this Tuesday evening. Pride Night will begin at 8:00 p.m. with coronation culminating the evening.

Candidates for Homecoming King include Cooper Meyer-Vander Sluis, Braeden Mouw, Owen Brouwer, Kolton Roos, and Mitchel Fischer.

Homecoming Queen candidates are Jada Kamstra, Bella Michels, Aubrey Erkes, Kailey Elgersma, and Taya Sudbeck.
