Lester Days Festival Is This Weekend

Lester, Iowa — Summer town festivals are wrapping up in northwest Iowa, with two of the latest on the horizon — Little Rock’s Corn Show and Sheldon’s Celebration Days. But this weekend, it’s Lester’s turn.

Lester Days started Friday with a Rescue Squad Meal, inflatables, fire truck rides, popcorn, root beer floats, a glow run, and fireworks.

Saturday is the big day, as usual, and features a rib smoking competition, community breakfast, a parade, lunch at the community center, face painting, inflatables, freedom brew and fuzzy snow cones, a pickleball tournament, a pedal pull, youth and adult bean bag tournaments, food trucks, karaoke, and more.

Lester Days wraps up with a community church service in the park on Sunday, with a food truck to follow.

That’s all in Lester — just eight miles west of Rock Rapids on Highway 9.
