Rock Rapids, Iowa — A Worthington, Minnesota man has been arrested on a warrant for a charge of enticing a minor under the age of 16.
According to a criminal complaint filed with the Lyon County Clerk of Court’s Office by the county sheriff’s office, 47-year-old Sevannary Saysirisanh of Worthington is accused of sending a message requesting a sexual act to a 14-year-old in Rock Rapids about one year ago. He was arrested on a warrant on Wednesday.
The deputy’s statement on the criminal complaint states that Saysirisanh admitted to sending the message in a phone call to the minor’s mother.
He was charged with enticing a minor under the age of 16 for sexual purpose, a class D felony. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison.
He faces a preliminary hearing on the charges on Monday, August 19th.
Saysirisanh was booked into the Lyon County Jail in Rock Rapids, and was released the next day after posting a $5000 cash or surety bond.
