Machine Shed & Contents Damaged In Saturday Fire Near Orange City

Orange City, Iowa — A machine shed and its contents were damaged in a fire on Saturday, May 24, 2025, near Orange City.

According to Orange City Fire Chief Dan Roghair, at about 8:50 a.m., the Orange City Fire Department was called to the report of a machine shed on fire near 4389 Ibex Avenue, about two miles west of Orange City’s north side.

The chief says the fire department saw heavy smoke as they approached the scene.

Roghair says no injuries were reported.

The fire department was assisted by the Alton, Granville, Ireton, Maurice, and Sioux Center fire departments, and the Le Mars Fire Department who stood by at the Orange City station for any calls during the fire.

He says the cause of the fire is undetermined.

Chief Roghair reports that there was probably at least $150,000 to $200,000 in damage, including farm supplies, fuel tanks, and more.
