Larchwood, Iowa — A Minnesota man has been arrested on a warrant for a felony sexual exploitation charge in Lyon County.
A criminal complaint filed with the Lyon County Clerk of Court’s Office by the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation says 31-year-old Brandon Church, now of Faribault, Minnesota, is accused of sexual exploitation of a minor and several counts of possession of a minor in a sex act. He was arrested on Saturday.
In his statement, the agent says that over the past few years, Church has possessed and distributed many picture and video files of minors engaged in sex acts.
Church was charged with Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, a class D felony. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison. He also faces eleven misdemeanor counts of purchase or possession of a depiction of a minor in a sex act, first offense.
He faces a preliminary hearing on December 12th.
Church was booked into the Lyon County Jail in Rock Rapids, and was released on the next day after posting a $27,000 bond.
