Sheldon, Iowa — Northwest Iowa Community College — NCC — in Sheldon has entered into an agreement with several private colleges in Iowa.
Officials at NCC tell us that in a statewide effort to enhance student pathways to four-year degrees, NCC has joined forces with 18 private, nonprofit colleges and universities in Iowa, along with other exceptional community colleges across the state, to implement the Iowa Private Transfer Guarantee admission agreement. They tell us the agreement facilitates streamlined transfer opportunities for NCC students and other Iowa community college students aiming to continue their education at a private institution in Iowa.
They tell us the agreement means guaranteed admission to one of the 19 participating private institutions, clear transfer pathways that streamline credit articulation and align with private colleges’ academic standards, and retention-focused support to ensure a smooth academic and social transition.
Greg Christy, president of nearby Northwestern College in Orange City, shared his enthusiasm, saying, “Northwestern College is very pleased to be part of the Iowa Private Transfer Guarantee. This initiative aligns with our goal of broadening access to four-year degrees for all qualifying Iowa students. Our partnership with NCC has been invaluable, and we hope this agreement enables even more students to experience the benefits of both institutions.”
