Northwest Iowa Organization Awarded Funding Through Iowa Homelessness Prevention Fund

Des Moines, Iowa — The Iowa Finance Authority has awarded more than $1.3 million to assist homelessness prevention efforts throughout the state.

Family Crisis Centers, which serves Cherokee, Lyon, O’Brien, Osceola, Plymouth, and Sioux counties, will be receiving $65,000.

The funding is through the new Iowa Homelessness Prevention Fund. It can be used for things such as short-term financial assistance for landlords, utility service providers, or other third parties, along with landlord mediation, housing navigation services, and case management.

Awards were presented to partner agencies that participated in the pilot program.
