Hospers, Iowa — One woman was taken to a hospital after a crash in Hospers on Monday, August 19.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that just before 3:30 p.m., 61-year-old Cheryl Scholten of Alton was driving a 2016 Ford Flex southbound on Highway 60 on the east side of Hospers. They report that 26-year-old Hannah Sailor was driving a 2017 Kia Sportage eastbound on 400th Street. Sailor drove eastbound into the intersection at Highway 60 and the vehicles collided.
The Hospers Ambulance took Sailor to Sanford Sheldon Medical Center.
The vehicles sustained approximately $7,500 in damage, each.
Sailor was cited on a charge of failure to yield right of way from a stop sign.
The sheriff’s office reports that the Iowa State Patrol, Hospers Fire Department, the Hospers Ambulance Squad and the Granville Ambulance Squad assisted with the response to the accident.
