The City of Orange City will soon have a new person in a lead role.
Orange City officials tell us they are pleased to announce that Matt Van Schouwen has been selected as the next City Administrator.
Van Schouwen, a Sioux Center native, is excited about the new role.
Van Schouwen currently serves as Orange City’s Director of Public Works, a role he has held since March 2019. He has overseen numerous community projects, infrastructure improvements, and public service initiatives. Van Schouwen lays out how the role has prepared him for his new position as City Administrator, which begins in November.
Earl Woudstra, who’s served as City Administrator since 2019, shares his enthusiasm for Van Schouwen to serve in the role.
Woudstra, who announced earlier this year that he’d be retiring, is ready for his next chapter.
Mayor Deb De Haan added, “His proven leadership and dedication to both our employees and residents make him an outstanding choice to guide Orange City into the future.”
In a press release, the City of Orange City said that the appointment of Van Schouwen represents both continuity and renewed energy for the city’s mission to provide quality services, foster vibrant connections, and promote sustainable progress for generations to come.
