Public Hearing Planned For Tuesday Morning To Adopt Plans & Specs For Osceola Co. Jail Project

Sibley, Iowa — The Osceola County Board of Supervisors will meet this Tuesday, and one of the things they’ll be discussing is the jail project.

The supervisors will hold a public hearing to adopt the plans and specs, contracts, and estimated cost for the Osceola County Public Safety Center Remodel.

They will also consider construction bids for the project and award construction contracts for the project.

Sheriff Kevin Wollmuth reminds us why the project is needed.

He says if all goes according to plan, they won’t have to house inmates elsewhere.

He says it will improve safety for all involved.

He says he believes the cost will be around five million dollars.

The public hearing is set for 10:30 a.m. this Tuesday, November 19th at the Osceola County Courthouse.
